Barton-le-Street is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 186 reducing to 170 at the 2011 Census. It is located about five miles west of Malton, between Appleton-le-Street and Slingsby on the old Roman road which is now the B1257.

Lyceum Theatre, Crewe
The Lyceum Theatre is an Edwardian theatre in Heath Street, Crewe, Cheshire, England. It originated as a converted Roman Catholic Church in 1876. The church was replaced in 1887 by a purpose-built theatre, which burnt down in 1910. The theatre was rebuilt the following year, and was refurbished in 1994. It continues in use as a theatre, as of 2022 it is managed by Trafalgar Theatres. The theatre is constructed in brick, and adjacent to it is a block containing the entrance and offices. Its interior contains decorated plasterwork.
Grays Court, York
Grays Court is a Grade I listed house in York, England. The house is within the city walls near York Minster. Dating back in part to 1080 and commissioned by the first Norman Archbishop of York to provide the official residence for the Treasurers of York Minster, it is one of the oldest continuously occupied dwellings in the United Kingdom.

Lindeth Tower
Lindeth Tower is a Victorian folly in Silverdale, Lancashire, England. It is an embattled square tower of three storeys. It was built in 1842 by Henry Paul Fleetwood, a distant relative of Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood, the founder of Fleetwood. A slate plaque bears the wording "Erected 1842 by H.P. Fleetwood Esq". Elizabeth Gaskell stayed in the tower in the 1840s and 1850s and her novel Ruth was written there. Lindeth Tower is a Grade II listed building.
Rodney Gardens
Rodney Gardens is an urban garden in the Kinnoull area of the Scottish city of Perth, on the eastern banks of the River Tay. Named for Admiral George Rodney of the Royal Navy, the gardens are situated on the former site of a mill.
One sculpture, known as "Millais Viewpoint", is by Tim Shutter. The view, through the two lower corners of a stone picture frame, recreates the view seen in the 1856 painting Autumn Leaves by John Everett Millais.
Immediately to the south of the gardens is Kinnoull Burial Ground, an ancient cemetery formerly part of an earlier guise of Kinnoull Parish Church. Its gates are kept locked; visitors wishing to enter are asked to get the keys from the reception in the adjacent Rodney Fitness Centre.

Denton Holme
Denton Holme is an inner city district in Carlisle, Cumbria, England. The population of this ward was 6,383, according to the 2011 census.
Denton Holme is usually regarded as a "village within the city" and is situated to the immediate south west of the city centre on the western bank of the River Caldew. A man-made stream or mill race known as the Little Caldew flows through and underneath the area.
Today it is mostly a residential area, but in the nineteenth century and most of the twentieth century, along with the neighbouring districts of Caldewgate and Wapping, it was Carlisle's main industrial district with many textile mills, engineering works and other factories such as car seat manufacturers and confectioners. Very few factories remain today, although the last mill, Ferguson Brothers, owned by Coats Viyella, at Holme Head, only closed in the 1990s.
Most of the housing is red-brick terraced, and a few are listed buildings, such as Bridge Terrace, built in the 1850s. Many side streets are still cobbled rather than tarmacked, although some new housing has been built recently, and some former factories have been converted into flats.
The main street, Denton Street, has many small shops and other businesses, including a bingo hall and a branch of the Cumberland Building Society, which closed in 2024. There was also a cinema in the suburb located in what is now the Bingo hall.
There is a primary school at Holme Head, built by and named after Robert Ferguson, and the former Morley Street School has been converted into a public library.
Four churches are in Denton Holme: the Church of England Parish Church, St James, Carlisle Christian Fellowship, and The Lighthouse Baptist Church.
At Shaddon Mill, on the boundary of Denton Holme and Caldewgate, stands a very tall chimney which was once the tallest in the UK. This structure, known as "Dixon's Chimney," is now slightly short of its original height, has recently been restored, and is a well-known local landmark. It is named after its first owner, Peter Dixon, who built the mill in 1835–6. The architect was Richard Tattersall.
Labour Member of Parliament Julie Minns, elected as the first female MP for Carlisle at the 2024 UK general election, was born in the district.

Glasgow Women's Library
Glasgow Women's Library is a public library, registered company and charity based in the Bridgeton area of Glasgow, Scotland. It is the only accredited museum dedicated to women's history and provides information relevant to women's culture and achievements. It tries to operate on feminist principles. The library was awarded Recognised Collection of National Significance to Scotland status in 2015, as the collection contains valuable resources pertaining to women and their lives. In 2018, it was shortlisted for Museum of the Year. The museum supplies and encourages training and education, as well as skill-sharing via volunteers and/or staff.
