Preston Tithebarn redevelopment
The Preston Tithebarn redevelopment project was a £700 million city centre regeneration initiative in Preston, Lancashire.
The project was intended to be developed by Preston Tithebarn Partnership, a 50/50 joint venture between Grosvenor and Lendlease in partnership with Preston City Council. In October 2005, Preston City Council and Grosvenor signed an agreement to go ahead with the Tithebarn regeneration project as part of Council's broader plans for Preston city. Tithebarn was objected to by neighbouring councils and the scheme was abandoned in 2011.

Lancaster University School of Mathematics
Lancaster University School of Mathematics, also known as LUSoM, is a maths school located in Preston, Lancashire, England. As a maths school, it is a specialist mathematics free school sixth form college.
The school was set up by the Rigby Education Trust, a single-academy trust set up in partnership between the Lancaster University and Cardinal Newman College for the purpose of opening and operating the school. It opened to students in September 2022 and is located in a £8.5 million school building on London Road, Preston, and is the first purpose-built specialist Maths School in the UK.
The school is highly selective, with prospective students expected to have GCSE mathematics qualification at grade 8 or 9 and required to sit an admissions assessment. The course structure at LUSoM requires all students to study A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and a third A-level from either Physics, Chemistry or Computer Science. In addition, students may select a fourth subject from those three, or choose any other A-level subject to be taught at Cardinal Newman College, which is located less than half a mile from the school site.

Deepdale Street railway station
Deepdale Street railway station was the original Preston terminus of the Preston and Longridge Railway in Lancashire, England, when it first opened in 1840. It was located in Deepdale Street, off Deepdale Road, on what was then the outskirts of Preston. The rail line was originally designed to carry quarried stone from Longridge to Preston, so the passenger facilities were quite rudimentary and there were many sidings near the station for unloading stone.
In 1856, passenger services were diverted to a new line via Deepdale Bridge and Miley Tunnel to a new terminus at Maudland Bridge. Deepdale Street was closed to passengers but continued to be used for goods, even long after the rest of the line had closed. The railway served a coal depot in Deepdale Street, which remained open until the 1990s.
Tracks connecting Deepdale Street to the West Coast Main Line via Miley Tunnel still exist although they are now rusty and overgrown.
