Edificio Alas - Izeria

L'Edificio Alas est un gratte-ciel de bureaux de 141 mètres de hauteur construit à Buenos Aires en 1950 sous l'impulsion de Juan Peron. L'Edificio Alas est de style modernisme précoce combinant la simplicité du style international et le raffinement des styles historiques antérieurs. Les architectes se sont aussi inspirés en partie des immeubles de New York. Ce fut le plus haut immeuble d'Argentine et de Buenos Aires de sa construction en 1950 à 1996.

Alas Building

The Alas Building (Spanish: Edificio Alas) is a Rationalist residential and office building in the San Nicolás section of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is 141 metres (463 ft) high with 41 floors. Alas was the tallest building in Buenos Aires between 1955 and 1995, when it was surpassed by the Le Parc tower. It has long been part of the skyline of Buenos Aires. As of 2009, it was the 20th tallest building in Argentina. The building was commissioned in 1950 by President Juan Perón for the Association of Unionized Latin American Workers (ATLAS, S.A.). He ordered that plans include an underground bunker for use in case of war or a coup d'état. Perón, however, did not seek refuge there during the 16 June 1955 bombing of Plaza de Mayo by the Argentine Navy. The building was transferred to the Argentine Air Force after the 1955 coup and renamed ALAS ("wings") and the bunker was later converted into Argentine Public Television studios. These were relocated to Figueroa Alcorta Avenue in 1978. Two underground floors are occupied by parking spaces, a gym, the boiler room, bike racks and other amenities.

Telefe (acronym for Televisión Federal) is a television station located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The station is owned and operated by Grupo Televisión Litoral through Televisión Federal S.A. Telefe is also one of Argentina's six national television networks. Its studios are located in Martínez, Buenos Aires, adjacent to the corporate headquarters; its transmitter is located at the Alas Building. In areas of Argentina where a Telefe station is not receivable over-the-air, it is available on satellite and select cable systems. Telefe also has regional stations across the country and an international network (Telefe Internacional) which is available in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.

The BBVA Tower (also known as the Banco Francés Tower) is an office skyscraper in Buenos Aires, Argentina, currently serving as the headquarters of BBVA Argentina financial institution. Completed between 2013 and 2016, the building stands at 155 m (509 ft) tall with 33 floors and is the eleventh tallest building in Buenos Aires.

University of Buenos Aires

The University of Buenos Aires (Spanish: Universidad de Buenos Aires, UBA) is a public research university in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is the second-oldest university in the country, and the largest university in the country by enrollment. Established in 1821, the UBA has educated 17 Argentine presidents, produced four of the country's five Nobel Prize laureates, and is responsible for approximately 40% of the country's research output. The university's academic strength and regional leadership make it attractive to many international students, especially at the postgraduate level. Just over 4 percent of undergraduates are foreigners, while 15 percent of postgraduate students come from abroad. The Faculty of Economic Sciences has the highest rate of international postgraduate students at 30 percent, in line with its reputation as a "top business school with significant international influence." The University of Buenos Aires enrolls more than 328,000 students and is organized into 13 independent faculties. It administers 6 hospitals, 16 museums, 13 scientific institutes, interdisciplinary commissions, 5 high schools, the Ricardo Rojas Cultural Center, the Cosmos Cinema, the University of Buenos Aires Symphony Orchestra, and Eudeba (Editorial Universitaria de Buenos Aires), the country's largest university press. Since 1949, all of the undergraduate programs at the University of Buenos Aires are free of charge for everyone, regardless of nationality. Tuition from postgraduate programs helps fund the UBA's social mission to provide free university education for all.

La Nación

La Nación (transl. "The Nation") is an Argentine daily newspaper. As the country's leading conservative newspaper, La Nación's main competitor is the more liberal Clarín. It is regarded as a newspaper of record for Argentina. Its motto is: "La Nación will be a tribune of doctrine." It is the second most read newspaper in print, behind Clarín, and the third in digital format, behind Infobae and Clarín. In addition, it has an application for Android and iOS phones. The newspaper's printing plant is in the City of Buenos Aires and its newsroom is in Vicente López, Province of Buenos Aires. The newsroom also acts as a studio for the newspaper's TV channel, LN+.
