Scarborough North Bay Railway (SNBR) is a ridable miniature railway (also known as a minimum-gauge railway) in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It was built in 1931, to the gauge of 20 in (508 mm), and runs for approximately 7⁄8 mile (1.4 km) between Peasholm Park and Scalby Mills in the North Bay area of the town. The railway attracted approximately 200,000 visitors in the 2014–2015 season, and remains popular with tourists.

Peasholm railway station

Peasholm railway station is the southern terminus station of the North Bay Railway in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It opened to the public in 1931. Although named after Peasholm Park, the station is not located in Peasholm Park, but is actually situated across Burniston Road, adjacent to the Open Air Theatre in Northstead Manor Gardens - part of the historic Manor of Northstead. The station features a single platform with a parallel carriage siding. There is also a balloon loop, to reverse and turn engines, and an engine shed, built in 1931, and enlarged in 2007. In 2007 the operating company announced plans to rebuild the station during the winter of 2007/2008, providing enhanced passenger and staff facilities, including an enlarged booking office and a new cafeteria. The new booking office is also a souvenir shop and sells light refreshments, which may be consumed in a covered seating area between the shop and the platform. A restaurant, operated by the railway company, is situated adjacent to the station.

Scarborough Open Air Theatre (commonly abbreviated the SOAT or OAT) is an outdoor theatre in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It was built in Northstead Manor Gardens in 1932, and originally closed in 1986 but was reopened in May 2010.

Peasholm Park

Peasholm Park is an oriental themed municipal park located in the seaside town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1912 and became a venue for galas, displays and exhibitions. The park was extended to include Peasholm Glen, a natural ravine, in 1924. Attractions include an artificial boating lake, where mock naval battles are staged, a putting green and a champion tree walk. The park suffered a decline in use from the 1970s as the number of holidaymakers visiting Scarborough decreased but it has been restored using Heritage Lottery Funding.

Northstead

Northstead is an area on the North Bay of Scarborough in North Yorkshire, England. The area near Newlands and Barrowcliff includes Peasholm Park and Scarborough Open Air Theatre. In 2011, the namesake ward had a population of 4,038. Since 2019 the ward no longer covers the area, with most of the old ward now in the Woodlands ward.
