Acklington is a railway station on the East Coast Main Line, which runs between London King's Cross and Edinburgh Waverley. The station, situated 28 miles 43 chains (28.5 mi; 45.9 km) north of Newcastle, serves the small village of Acklington in Northumberland, England. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains. During 2023/24, it was the least used station in Northumberland, with an estimated 550 passenger journeys (entries and exits) made.

Acklington
Acklington is a small village in Northumberland, England. It is situated to the south-west of Amble, inland from the North Sea coast. It is served by Acklington railway station. The name is Anglo-Saxon Old English meaning 'farmstead of Eadlac's people'.
Acklington won the title of Northumberland Village of the Year in 2007. It has a parish church, St John the Divine, and a Church of England primary school.
To the north of Acklington is Morwick Hall, a Grade II listed Georgian house. It was built by the Grey family of Howick; in the 1850s it was owned by William Linskill, a former High Sheriff of Northumberland.
A World War II FW3/22 pillbox is located near the B6345.
A dam was constructed on the River Coquet in 1776, causing problems for the river's salmon population. Many years later, the eccentric naturalist Frank Buckland erected a sign directing the salmon to another stream.

RAF Acklington
Royal Air Force Acklington, simply known as RAF Acklington, is a former Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force station located 3.2 miles (5.1 km) southwest of Amble, Northumberland and 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of Newcastle upon Tyne.
The airfield was operational initially from 1916 being used by the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) and from April 1918 its successor the Royal Air Force (RAF) before being closed in 1920 however it was reopened in 1938 being used by the RAF until 1972. After 1972 the site was turned over to Her Majesty's Prison Service for the creation of two new prisons.

HM Prison Acklington was a Category C men's prison, located near the village of Acklington (a few miles from Amble), in Northumberland, England. Acklington Prison was operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service. In 2011 Acklington was merged into the newly named HM Prison Northumberland.
HMP Acklington was the most northerly adult prison in England, and was built on the site of the former RAF Acklington airfield.
