Callerton railway station

Callerton was a railway station on the Ponteland Railway, which ran between South Gosforth and Ponteland, with a sub-branch line to Darras Hall. The station served Woolsington in Newcastle upon Tyne. It was opened in 1905, closed to passengers in 1929, and to goods traffic in 1965. The current Callerton Parkway station, on the Tyne and Wear Metro, lies just to the south-east of the original station site.

Druid Park

Druid Park (originally known as the Wheatsheaf Ground) is a multi-purpose stadium in Woolsington, north Newcastle upon Tyne in England. It is currently used for football and rugby union matches and was the home stadium of Gosforth RFC from 2007–2014. Druid Park is the home of Great Park FC and Great Park FC Juniors. The grounds facilities include changing rooms for Home and away teams as well as for match officials, a small gym, conference room, multi purpose room and a bar which is open before, during and after matches.

It is adjacent to a level crossing that carries Callerton Lane across the rail line. The station opened in 1991, following the opening of the extension of the Metro from Bank Foot to Newcastle Airport.

Royal Air Force Woolsington, or more simply RAF Woolsington, was a civilian airfield that was taken over by the RAF in 1939. It was returned to civilian use in 1946 and is now Newcastle International Airport.
