North Newbald is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Newbald, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The village is situated approximately 13 miles (20 km) north-west of Hull city centre, 3 miles (5 km) north of South Cave and 3.5 miles (6 km) south of Market Weighton. It lies to the east of the A1034 road.

Newbald

Newbald is a civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 8 miles (13 km) west of the market town of Beverley and covering an area of 2,429.702 hectares (6,003.92 acres). The civil parish is formed by the village of North Newbald and the hamlet of South Newbald. It is drained by Ings Beck which ultimately feeds into the Humber at Brough, East Riding of Yorkshire. The beck powered a watermill to the south of the village. East of the village, the South Cave to Market Weighton or Goodmanham section of the Yorkshire Wolds Way passes through Swin Dale. According to the 2011 UK census, Newbald parish had a population of 1,115, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 989.

South Newbald is a hamlet and former civil parish, now in the parish of Newbald, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 12 miles (19 km) north-west of Hull city centre, 2.5 miles (4 km) north of South Cave and 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Market Weighton. It lies to the east of the A1034 road. The larger village of North Newbald is just to the north. In 1931 the parish had a population of 173. In 1823 South Newbald was in the civil parish of North Newbald, the Wapentake of Harthill and the Liberty of St Peter's. Population at the time was 179, with occupations including seven farmers & yeomen and three corn millers. Resident was a banker, an overseer, and the vicar of North Newbald. The name Newbald derives from the Old English nīwebōðl meaning 'new dwelling'.

Hotham is a small village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 16 miles (26 km) west of Hull, 21 miles (34 km) south east of York and 4 miles (6 km) south of Market Weighton town centre. The village has road links with the cities of Kingston upon Hull, York and Leeds. The eastern end of the M62 motorway, at Junction 38, is 2 miles (3 km) south-west from Hotham. According to the 2011 UK census, Hotham parish had a population of 233, a decrease on the 2001 UK census figure of 256. The village has about 100 houses, the Hotham Arms public house, and a village hall. Other amenities are in the neighbouring villages of North Cave and South Cave. The village is under the York postcode and the local authority is the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The church dedicated to St Oswald was designated a Grade II* listed building in 1966 and is now recorded in the National Heritage List for England, maintained by Historic England.

It broadcasts to the East Riding of Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire. It replaced Viking FM in 2024, 40 years to the day after the station originally launched as Viking Radio.
