Jalan Besar MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Downtown Line in Rochor, Singapore. The station is located under Jalan Besar, at the junction with Weld Road, hence its name. The station was first announced as Sungei Road MRT station in August 2010. The former Sungei Road Thieves' Market was located next to this station. Jalan Besar station is within walking distance of Rochor MRT station and Bugis MRT station.

Sungei Road
Sungei Road (IPA: SUUNG-eye, Chinese: 双溪路) is a road in Singapore situated between Serangoon Road and Jalan Besar and runs along the Rochor Canal. The area around Sungei Road formerly housed affluent Europeans and Asians, and many ornately designed buildings were built there. Since the 1930s, the road has been synonymous with Sungei Road laksa (a local spicy noodle soup) and the Thieves' Market, the largest and oldest flea market in Singapore, where locals can shop for old bric-a-brac or second-hand goods. The market was permanently closed on 10 July 2017 for "future residential development use".

Masjid Abdul Gaffoor
The Abdul Gaffoor Mosque (Malay: Masjid Abdul Gaffoor, Tamil: மஸ்ஜித் அப்துல் கஃபூர், romanized: Masjit Aptul Kaḥpūr) is a mosque in Little India, Singapore. It is located at Dunlop Street in the Rochor Planning Area.
The mosque was constructed in 1907, and major restoration of the building was completed in 2003. The mosque is currently owned by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS).
The mosque is also known by the following variant names: Abdul Gafoor Mosque, Abdul Gafor Mosque, Abdul Gaffor Mosque, Abdul Gaphore Mosque, Abdul Gapore Mosque, Dunlop Street Mosque and Indian Mosque.
