Darras Hall - Izeria

Darras Hall is an upland housing estate located in the village of Ponteland, in the civil parish of Ponteland, in Northumberland, England. It is on the southwestern outskirts of the village, 7.4 miles (11.9 km) northwest of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is generally regarded as the most expensive and exclusive place to live in the North East of England and is home to numerous celebrities, professional footballers and some of the region's most powerful business leaders.

Darras Hall railway station

Darras Hall was a railway station on the Ponteland Railway, which ran between South Gosforth and Ponteland, with a sub-branch line to Darras Hall. The station served Darras Hall in Northumberland. The station was opened on 1 October 1913, by the North Eastern Railway. It consisted of a single timber platform, with a wooden building, and was located near to Broadway. In the mid- and late-1920s, an unscheduled service operated from Darras Hall for colliery workers at Belsay and Wallridge. The 7½-mile line, which linked with the Ponteland Railway, was known as the Wallridge Mineral Railway.

Ponteland ( pon-TEE-lənd) is a town and civil parish in Northumberland, England. It is 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Newcastle upon Tyne. Built on marshland near St Mary's Church and the old bridge, most marshland has now been drained to make way for housing. In the industrial era, the settlement expanded with the development of Darras Hall. Parts of Ponteland have some of North-East England's most expensive houses; being just outside Newcastle, near the airport and on the edge of rural countryside. The civil parish includes the old village of Ponteland, the Darras Hall estate, and the villages of Kirkley, Medburn, Milbourne and Prestwick.

Castle Ward Rural District

Castle Ward was a rural district of the administrative county of Northumberland, England, from 1894 to 1974, covering an area north-west of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne. It was named after the historic Castle ward of Northumberland. The council offices were located in Ponteland. In 1974, under the reforms established by the Local Government Act 1972, most of the district was merged to form part of Castle Morpeth, while the southernmost part joined the metropolitan borough of Newcastle in the new metropolitan county of Tyne & Wear. Castle Ward, one of the modern day electoral wards of the City of Newcastle, takes its name from the district and shares some of its territory, such as in Dinnington.
