Kingswood Academy is a secondary school on the northern fringe of the Bransholme housing estate in Kingston upon Hull, England. The school opened in 2013, it was built as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme as a replacement on the same site for the Perronet Thompson School, (later known as Kingswood College of Arts) which originally opened in 1988.

RAF Sutton on Hull
Royal Air Force Sutton on Hull or more simply RAF Sutton on Hull is a former Royal Air Force station situated in the suburb of Sutton-on-Hull (part of Kingston upon Hull) in the East Riding of Yorkshire that operated from 1938 to 1961. During the Second World War, its primary role was to operate as No. 17 Balloon Centre of 33 Group (under RAF Balloon Command) which was headquartered in Sheffield. The balloons deployed from here were used as part of the defensive tactics against Luftwaffe bombing raids on Hull, Hull Docks, Grimsby and the wider Humber area.
After the war, the base was home to the Royal Air Force Fire and Rescue School before it moved to Royal Air Force Catterick in 1959. The site of the station is now part of the Bransholme estate.

Winifred Holtby Academy
Winifred Holtby Academy (previously Bransholme High School, Winifred Holtby School, Winifred Holtby Technology College) is a coeducational secondary school located in the Bransholme area of Kingston upon Hull in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The school is named after Winifred Holtby, a novelist and journalist who is best known for her novel South Riding.
Originally known as Bransholme High School, the school was later renamed Winifred Holtby School, and some time later, Winifred Holtby Technology College. In May 2013 Winifred Holtby School converted to academy status and was renamed Winifred Holtby Academy. The school was given a substantial £38 million rebuild in 2011 under the Building Schools for the Future scheme and was twinned with Tweendykes Special School, who now share a small section of the building, and was opened in September 2011 following a minor delay caused by the collapse of the school's furniture supplier.
In 2019 Winifred Holtby Academy liquidised its own trust and became part of The Consortium Academy Trust.
Winifred Holtby Academy offers GCSEs, BTECs and OCR Nationals as programmes of study for pupils.

Bransholme
Bransholme is an area and a housing estate on the north side of Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The name Bransholme comes from an old Scandinavian word meaning Brand's water meadow (brand or brandt meant 'wild boar').
The largely council owned estate is located in between Sutton-on-Hull to the east, Sutton Park to the south, and Kingswood to the west. It is surrounded by fields and 'A' Roads which largely isolate it from the rest of East Hull.
There are two high, or secondary schools, Winifred Holtby Academy and Kingswood Academy, within the environs of Bransholme, these are fed by a number of primary schools.
There are two major retail centres available within the area. These are North Point Shopping Centre, formerly and still locally known as Bransholme Centre, a location where a number of smaller shops can be found as well as a covered market, and Kingswood Retail Park, which is the site of a number of large major stores as well as an entertainment area including a multiscreen cinema, bowling alley and restaurants. At the 2011 census, Bransholme was made up of the Bransholme East and West Wards and the combined population was 18,533.

Kingswood, Kingston upon Hull
Kingswood, occasionally referred to as Kingswood Parks, is a modern housing estate on the northern fringe of Kingston upon Hull, in the ceremonial county of the East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
Through much of its history much of the area has been marsh – some drainage was made during the medieval period – a canal, the Forthdyk (later Foredike) was cut in the 13th century. The Engine Drain was cut c. 1675, with windmills aiding drainage of the area. In the 1770s construction of the Holderness Drain incorporated part of the Foredike into its route, and further improved drainage in the wider area. After drainage to the later 20th century the land use was exclusively agricultural.
The estate was developed from the 1990s onwards on low lying agricultural land lying immediately east of the River Hull, and adjacent to the Bransholme Estate to the south-east, separated by the A1033 and Wawne Road. In addition to the housing the area includes a large shopping area, Kingswood retail park, including an Asda superstore and several other warehouse type shopping outlets, plus leisure facilities including a cinema, indoor bowling, and several fast food restaurants.
