Route A62 (Grande-Bretagne)

L'A62 est une importante route du nord de l'Angleterre qui relie les villes de Manchester et Leeds. La route fait environ 65 km de long. De Manchester, où elle commence sous le nom de Oldham Street et de Oldham Road, elle s'étend vers le nord-est pour traverser Failsworth et Oldham puis Saddleworth, avant de traverser les Pennines à Standedge dans le Yorkshire de l'Ouest. Se poursuivant dans Marsden, Slaithwaite, Linthwaite, Huddersfield, Liversedge et Birstall, elle se termine non loin du centre ville de Leeds, à sa jonction avec l'A58. Elle est parallèle sur une partie de son tracé avec la M62. Cette dernière doit son nom à l'A62 et accueille aujourd'hui une bonne partie du trafic entre Manchester et Leeds.

Slaithwaite railway station

Slaithwaite railway station serves the town of Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire, England. The station is 4 miles (6 km) west of Huddersfield railway station on the Huddersfield Line between Huddersfield and Manchester Victoria. The station is situated between the centre of the town and the "Hill Top" residential area. The station has two platforms with a car park and bus stop at the approach to Platform 2. The current station was opened on 13 December 1982 by Metro (the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive) and British Rail. The Huddersfield-bound platform is on the site of an earlier four platform station which opened in 1849 and closed on 7 October 1968. The current Stalybridge-bound platform is on the site of the old goods yard. This station is operated by Northern Trains but TransPennine Express is the sole operator serving the station.

Moorside Edge

The Moorside Edge is a steeply sloping area of moorland at grid reference SE070154 just north of Slaithwaite and about 5 miles (8 km) west of Huddersfield in the Kirklees District of West Yorkshire, England. It descents from the relatively flat summit of Pole Moor into the valley of the River Colne. Just above the edge itself is the Moorside Edge transmitting station.
