Blackleach Country Park is a country park in Walkden, Greater Manchester. It is situated half a mile from the town centre just off Bolton Road in the Hill Top area. It is a Local Nature Reserve and a winner of the Green Flag Award. The park is mainly used by residents as a leisure destination (running, walking, dog walking, angling) but has gained increasing regional recognition following the establishment of a local ranger group, who now regularly maintain the space.

Previously a foundation school administered by Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council, George Tomlinson School converted to academy status in September 2010 and was renamed Kearsley Academy. However the school continues to coordinate with Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council for admissions. The school relocated to new buildings in 2014.

Linnyshaw is an area of Walkden, a town in the City of Salford district of Greater Manchester, England. Historically within Lancashire, it lies to the east of Walkden, immediately south of junction 2 of the M61 motorway. The area is predominantly moss and there is a very small population. Linnyshaw lies entirely within the Walkden North council ward and within the Worsley parliamentary constituency. It is bordered by Kearsley to the north and Wardley to the east.
Between 1865 and 1921 Linnyshaw Colliery was operated by the Bridgewater Trustees.
