Nightingale House
The Nightingale House is a Victorian era Queen Anne and Eastlake style house, located at 201 Buchanan Street in San Francisco, California, United States.
1. History
The 4400 square foot home was designed by architect John Marquis and built in 1882. The name comes from its original owner, John Nightingale (1823–1912). The structure was designated as a San Francisco landmark in October 1972. Notably the last resident of this house was San Francisco Arts Commissioner and San Francisco artist Jo Hanson, who died March 13, 2007.

San Francisco Mint
The San Francisco Mint is a branch of the United States Mint. Opened in 1854 to serve the gold mines of the California gold rush, in twenty years its operations exceeded the capacity of the first building. It moved into a new one in 1874, now known as the Old San Francisco Mint. In 1937 Mint operations moved into a third building, the current one, completed that year.

New decorative railings, which feature a quote from Harvey Milk's 1977 "You've Got to Have Hope" speech as well as an illustration of streetcar #1051 (which is dedicated in Milk's honor) were added to both islands.
