Rise, East Riding of Yorkshire
Rise is a village and civil parish in Holderness, the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 7 miles (11 km) east of the town of Beverley and 5 miles (8 km) south-west of Hornsea. It lies to the east of the B1243 road.
The place-name 'Rise' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Risun in the Holderness Wapentake. This is the plural of the Old English word 'hris', meaning 'brushwood'.
According to the 2011 UK census, Rise parish had a population of 105, a reduction on the 2001 UK census figure of 119.
Rise was served from 1864 to 1964 by Whitedale railway station on the Hull and Hornsea Railway, until the line was closed following the Beeching Report.

Whitedale railway station was a railway station which served the villages of Rise and Withernwick in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It was on the Hull and Hornsea Railway.
It opened on 28 March 1864 and closed following the Beeching Report on 19 October 1964.

Little Hatfield
Little Hatfield is a small hamlet in the civil parish of Hatfield, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, in an area known as Holderness. It is situated approximately 3 miles (5 km) south-west of Hornsea town centre, and less than 1 mile (1.6 km) west of Great Hatfield.
Little Hatfield was formerly a township in the parish of Sigglesthorne, in 1866 Little Hatfield became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Goxhill and Great Hatfield to form "Hatfield". In 1931 the parish had a population of 63.
In 1823 Little Hatfield was in the Wapentake and Liberty of Holderness. Population at the time was 25, which included a farmer.
Little Hatfield was served from 1864 to 1964 by Sigglesthorne railway station on the Hull and Hornsea Railway.
The name Hatfield derives from the Old English hǣðfeld meaning 'heath field'.

Skirlaugh Rural District
Skirlaugh was a rural district in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England from 1894 to 1935.
The district formed an area around the Hornsea urban district.
The district was created by the Local Government Act 1894.
In 1935 the district was abolished by a County Review Order made under the Local Government Act 1929. and the area then formed part of the newly created Holderness Rural District. At the same time a small part was transferred to the municipal borough of Kingston upon Hull.
