New Heys Comprehensive School

New Heys Comprehensive School or New Heys Community College was an English comprehensive school in Liverpool specialising within Business. The school worked closely with businesses such as the New Mersey Retail Park, Jaguar and Scottish Power to provide their children with a taste of business life.

1. Merger

It was announced in early 2009, that New Heys Comprehensive would move to St Benedicts' Catholic College and form a new, 'Business and Faith Academy' on the Garston site, leaving the original New Heys to be rebuilt to form a housing development. This comes as one of the major changes that will happen in and around 2011 to 2017. From around November/December 2013 New Heys School was demolished to make way for Housing and work started in 2014 The school is now known as The Academy of St Nicholas.

Allerton, Liverpool

Allerton is a suburb of Liverpool, in the county of Merseyside, England. Historically in Lancashire, it is located three miles (five kilometres) southeast of the city centre and is bordered by the suburbs of Garston, Hunt's Cross, Mossley Hill, and Woolton. It has a number of large houses in the prestigious Calderstones Park area, with mainly 1930s semi-detached housing around the shopping area of Allerton Road. It is paired with Hunts Cross to form the Allerton and Hunts Cross city council ward, which had a population of 14,853 at the 2011 census.

Allerton Golf Club House

Allerton Golf Club House is a ruined Neoclassical building located in Allerton, Liverpool, England. Completed in 1815 by the architect Harrison of Chester for the owner Jacob Fletcher, the building was built on the site of a previous one which had been destroyed by a fire. This replacement building was occupied by the Fletcher family for 104 years before being purchased in 1923 by the Liverpool Corporation, who converted the mansion into a clubhouse for a newly built golf course. On 21 November 1944 another fire broke out, leaving the building in ruins. On 14 March 1975 the ruins became a Grade II listed structure. To the south-east of the house is a sandstone obelisk which belonged to the original 18th century house. It is of square plan, and is mounted on plinth. The obelisk is Grade II listed.

Allerton Priory

Allerton Priory is a Grade II* listed building in Liverpool, England, designed by Alfred Waterhouse and completed in 1870. A house originally known as Allerton Lodge, but later Allerton Priory, was built on the site in the early 1800s for William Rutson, a Liverpool merchant. In 1866 John Grant Morris, Mayor of Liverpool and a colliery owner, bought the estate and commissioned architect Alfred Waterhouse to rebuild the house. In 1897 a Monsignor Nugent (1822–1905) founded a House of Providence (or Magdalen Asylum), which was run by nuns as a refuge for unmarried Irish girls. In 1915 the sisters established a (residential) School for Special Educational Needs, again for girls. It was temporary certified on 18 May 1916 for 15 girls, then re-certified in 1917 as Allerton Priory Special Industrial School for intellectual disabled girls under 15. It ceased to be a Home Office school in 1933. The nuns owned the property until 1986. The property was then purchased by Danny Mullholland and converted to a nursing home, which was managed by a local family until 1994/1995. The house has since been converted into luxury apartments. Around 2010 it was a film location as "Anubis House" for the Nickelodeon TV series House of Anubis.

20 Forthlin Road

20 Forthlin Road is a National Trust property in Allerton in Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is the house in which Paul McCartney lived for several years before he rose to fame with the Beatles, and it is labelled by the National Trust as "the birthplace of the Beatles". It was also the home of his brother Mike and the birthplace of the trio the Scaffold, of which Mike was a member.
