Wansbeck Road is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the suburbs of Coxlodge and Gosforth in the English city of Newcastle upon Tyne. It opened in 1981 and is situated next to, and partly over, the bridge carrying the metro line over the Wansbeck Road.

Broadway West Sports Ground

Broadway West Sports Ground is a multi-use sports complex in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is located in the Parklands ward. It is home to sports teams that are under the Gosforth Sports Association banner; Gosforth Rugby Football Club, Newcastle City Cricket Club, Tyne Tees Tigers and Newcastle Nighthawks Baseball Club. The site is located near the Wansbeck Road Metro station. Gosforth Rugby Football Club moved to the site after previously being tenants at Bullocksteads Sports Ground and Druid Park. The sports ground and adjacent Kingston Park Road playing fields are also used for community groups and events. It also hosts the Newcastle Roundtable Fireworks Display annually around Guy Fawkes Night. Red House Farm J.F.C. play at the adjacent Kingston Park Road playing fields after moving from Broadway West in 2003 to build their own club house. Gosforth Sports Association took a 30-year lease on the site and clubhouse in September 2015 from Newcastle City Council.

Fawdon is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving the suburbs of Fawdon and Kenton, Newcastle upon Tyne in Tyne and Wear, England. It was opened in 1981, adjacent to the level crossing carrying Fawdon Lane across the railway and with staggered platforms on either side of the level crossing.

Coxlodge railway station

Coxlodge was a railway station on the Ponteland Railway, which ran between South Gosforth and Ponteland, with a sub-branch line to Darras Hall. The station served Coxlodge and Fawdon in Newcastle upon Tyne. It was opened in 1905, closed to passengers in 1929, and to goods traffic in 1965. The station was situated at the junction of Edgefield Avenue, Fawdon Walk and The Meadows. Today the site is occupied by the western (eastbound) platform of Fawdon station on the Tyne and Wear Metro.

Fawdon

Fawdon is an area and electoral ward of Newcastle upon Tyne, in the county of Tyne and Wear, England. It is also close to the A1 western bypass. The population of the ward is 10,890, reducing to 10,090 at the 2011 Census, 5.7% of the total population of Newcastle upon Tyne. Car ownership in the area is 53.6%, lower than the city average of 54.7%. Until 1974 it was in Northumberland. It is situated about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north-by-west from Newcastle City Centre and is at the site of three colliery villages which were known as High Fawdon, Fawdon Square and Low Fawdon. Fawdon Square was the birthplace of 19th-century poet and songwriter Marshall Cresswell.
