Temenos is a sculpture in Middlesbrough, Northern England. It is approximately 110 metres (360 ft) long and 50 metres (160 ft) high and cost £2.7 million. The steel structure consists of a pole, a circular ring and an oval ring, all held together by steel wire. The name Temenos comes from the Ancient Greek (τέμενος < τέμνω, temno, 'to cut') term for land cut off and assigned as an official domain, especially to kings and chiefs, or a piece of land marked off from common uses and dedicated to a god, a sanctuary, holy grove or holy precinct. The structure is in the Middlehaven area of Middlesbrough, close to where the Transporter bridge is located; construction work started in autumn 2008 and was completed by spring 2010, and the sculpture was officially presented to the people of Middlesbrough on 10 June 2010. It was funded by the Government Initiative, The Northern Way, the regional development agency One NorthEast, the Arts Council England, the Northern Rock Foundation, Middlesbrough Football Club and BioRegional Quintain.

Outwood Academy Riverside

Outwood Academy Riverside is a secondary school in Middlesbrough, England. It has a mixed intake of boys and girls ages 11–16 with a comprehensive admissions policy. The school opened as a free school in September 2020, operated by Outwood Grange Academies Trust. It initially had 100 year 7 pupils and was based at temporary premises while constructing a dedicated site in Middlehaven. Originally planned to be ready in 2023, construction suffered delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and contract re-tendering. By the summer of 2023, the school had moved into a second temporary premises. It received a new completion date of 2026 and began seeking a third temporary site capable of accommodating more pupils. Lack of bus transportation and strangers outside the school were concerns.

St John's Church, Middlesbrough

St John's Church, Middlesbrough, is the oldest parish church in the town of Middlesbrough in the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. It is an active parish church and a Grade II* listed building which was listed by Historic England in July 1968. It is located at the junction of Marton Road, North Ormesby Road and Russell Street. It is opposite a small retail park and to the east of the main town centre. It can be seen when passing on the nearby A66 carriageway which passes the north and the east of the church. Its spire and tower is one of Middlesbrough's oldest and dominant landmarks which can be seen when bypassing the town.
