Healing, Lincolnshire

Healing is a village and civil parish in North East Lincolnshire, England. It is situated between Stallingborough and Great Coates, and 3 miles (5 km) west from Grimsby. The village dates from at least the early medieval period, but later contracted to a few habitations. Healing railway station opened on 1 April 1881, and in the late 1800s/early 1900s the village expanded. The parish was once known as the site of a healing spring. Outside the village there are no significant habitations in the parish. A large textile fibre plant was constructed by Courtaulds near the Humber bank in the late 1950s, and near the boundary with Great Coates a large industrial estate, Europarc, was established in the 1990s.

Healing School, A Science Academy is a co-educational secondary school and specialist academy located on Low Road in the village of Healing, North East Lincolnshire, England. The school has a maximum capacity of 900 students. However, according to the 2019 Ofsted report it has a student enrolment of 914. Healing School serves the area of Healing and Stallingborough but the school has an intake from the Willows, Great Coates, Wybers Wood, Immingham, North Killingholme and other parts of Grimsby.

Healing railway station serves the village of Healing in North East Lincolnshire, England. It was opened on 1 April 1881 by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by East Midlands Railway.

Stallingborough railway station

Stallingborough railway station serves the village of Stallingborough in North East Lincolnshire, England. It was built by the Great Grimsby and Sheffield Junction Railway in 1848. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by East Midlands Railway. The manually operated level crossing gates seen in the photo and the wooden Great Central Railway signal box that operated them have both since been replaced by a modern brick structure and lifting barriers respectively - the new signal box is on northside of the line, and is one of a few little boxes to be built in recent years. The station building is a private house now, but there are shelters on both platforms.
