St Ricarius Church, Aberford

The Church of St Ricarius, Aberford, West Yorkshire, England, is an active Anglican parish church in the archdeaconry of York and the Diocese of Leeds. It is commonly stated that the dedication refers to the French saint St Richarius or Riquier who is supposed to have visited Aberford in 630. However, the church itself has a stained glass window depicting "Ricarius Rex 720" (King Richard) the Saxon King also known as St Richard the Pilgrim.

Nellie's Tree (also known as the Love Tree) near Aberford, West Yorkshire is a group of three beech trees that have been grafted together in the shape of a letter "N". This arrangement of the trees is a result of a local man trying to impress his girlfriend Nellie around 1920. It has since become locally famous and is the site of numerous marriage proposals. The trees won the 2018 English and British Tree of the Year awards and came ninth in the 2019 European Tree of the Year awards.

Lotherton cum Aberford is a civil parish in the metropolitan borough of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. The population of the civil parish (including Parlington) at the 2011 Census was 323. Until 1974 it was in the Tadcaster Rural District in the West Riding of Yorkshire. The parish contains the southeastern fringes of the village of Aberford, and Lotherton Hall.
