Moor Park High School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Preston in the English county of Lancashire. It is a foundation school administered by Lancashire County Council. The school was also previously awarded specialist status as a Business and Enterprise College. Moor Park High School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form (which opened in 2013) have the option to study from a range of A-levels and further BTECs.

Deepdale is a football stadium in the Deepdale area of Preston, England that is the home ground of Preston North End. Built in 1875 and in use since 1878, Deepdale is recognised as being one of the oldest continuously used football stadiums in the world, although the club's claim that it is the oldest is contested.

Deepdale railway station

Deepdale railway station (also known as Deepdale Bridge station) was on the Longridge Branch Line in Preston, Lancashire, England. The station opened in 1856 as a replacement for Deepdale Street railway station which until then had been the Preston passenger terminus of the line. The new station lay on an extension, built in 1850, which connected to the earlier line near the level crossing in Skeffington Road. The extension passed through the 862-yard (788 m) Miley Tunnel to another new station at Maudland Bridge. Deepdale station was the headquarters of the Fleetwood, Preston and West Riding Junction Railway, which had bought the Preston and Longridge Railway. The new line and tunnel were originally built to connect the Longridge line to the existing Preston and Wyre Joint Railway, as part of a planned route from Fleetwood on the Fylde coast to Skipton in the West Riding of Yorkshire. However, that plan had already collapsed by 1852. The station, along with others on the line, closed to regular passenger services on 31 May 1930. The last passenger trains to use Deepdale station were 1970s football supporters' specials bringing away fans to Deepdale Stadium to watch a football match. This was done to keep visiting supporters away from the town centre before and after the match. The line through the station continued to be used for goods trains until the 1990s, and the tracks, though rusty and overgrown, still exist as far as the Skeffington Road level crossing.

St George's, Preston

For the church of the same name, see Church of St George the Martyr, Preston. St George's is an electoral ward in Preston, Lancashire, England. The ward is adjacent to the larger Deepdale to the east and is considered to be more an area within Deepdale than a distinct community of its own. The ward was created in 2002 for the 2002 Preston Council election, taking in the terraces running from Deepdale Road to St Paul's Road adjacent to Moor Park, running south towards the city centre. The eastern parts of the University of Central Lancashire campus in included within the St George's boundaries. Its name comes from the main road running east–west from Deepdale Road to the A6 Garstang Road. Two members of Preston City Council, elected 'in thirds' in first past the post elections each year, are returned from the ward. The ward forms part of the Lancashire County Council electoral division of Preston Central South.
