The Embarcadero and Stockton station

The Embarcadero and Stockton station (also signed as Pier 39 station) is a light rail station in the Fisherman's Wharf district of San Francisco, California, serving the San Francisco Municipal Railway's E Embarcadero and F Market & Wharves heritage railway lines. It is located on The Embarcadero at Stockton Street, in front of Pier 39. The station opened on March 4, 2000, with the streetcar's extension to Fisherman's Wharf. The stop is also served by the route 39 bus, plus the L Owl bus route, which provides service along the F Market & Wharves and L Taraval lines during the late night hours when trains do not operate.

Jetée 39

La « jetée no 39 » (Pier 39) est une jetée aménagée en centre commercial à San Francisco, en Californie. Elle est située près du quartier de Fisherman's Wharf. La jetée 39 permet de voir l'île d'Alcatraz et le Pont du Golden Gate. De nombreux commerces et attractions s'y trouvent, dont : des lions de mer installés depuis 1990 sur l’ouest du quai ; l'Aquarium of the Bay ; le Hard Rock Cafe de San Francisco ; un restaurant Bubba Gump Shrimp Company inspiré du film Forrest Gump ; le Candy Baron, un magasin de confiserie ; NFL/College Shop, un magasin consacré aux sports nord-américain. La jetée apparaît dans le jeu vidéo Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas sous le nom de Pier 69 (« jetée 69 »), le nombre 69 faisant référence à la position sexuelle. Une des missions du jeu s'y déroule et porte son nom.

Balclutha (voilier)

Le Balclutha est un trois-mâts carré, à coque acier, construit en 1886. Il tire son nom du gaélique Bal (cité) sur la Clutha (Clyde). Depuis le 4 février 1985, il est considéré comme National Historic Landmark (monument historique) par le National Trust for Historic Preservation. Il est amarré au quai du Hyde Street Pier (en) de San Francisco et fait partie du Musée maritime.
