Battersby Hats was the trading name of Battersby & Co, a hat manufacturer of Stockport, England. The firm once had a capacity of 12,000 hats per week but it declined in the second half of the twentieth century and merged with other hat manufacturers in 1966 before hat production ceased altogether in 1997.

Offerton was formerly a civil parish, which was abolished in 1900 to become part of Hazel Grove and Bramhall. A parish called Offerton Park existed between 2002 and 2011, which covered one of the area's housing estates. Offerton gives its name to an electoral ward, although the ward excludes the older part of Offerton around Offerton Green.

The school catered for pupils aged 11 to 16 and was maintained by the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport. Due to a forced closure issued by the government, the school ceased to function in 2012.
