Brinsworth is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham, in South Yorkshire, England. It is situated close to the River Rother between Rotherham and Sheffield. At the time of the 2001 census it had a population of 8,950, reducing to 8,789 at the 2011 Census.
Brinsworth became a new separate ward in May 2021 which covers the whole village beyond the parish boundary. This change was to accommodate an expanding neighbouring ward of Rother Vale - that includes the new mainly private housing estate of Waverley which has around 3,800 homes with its own school and lake frontage.

Tinsley was a railway marshalling yard near Tinsley in Sheffield, England, used to separate railway wagons from incoming trains and add them to new trains. It was sited immediately west of the M1 motorway, about one mile north of the Catcliffe junction. It was opened in 1965, as a part of a major plan to rationalise all aspects of the rail services in the Sheffield area; it closed in stages from 1985, with the run-down of rail freight in Britain. It was also the site of Tinsley Traction Maintenance Depot, which was closed in 1998; at its peak, 200 locomotives were allocated to this depot.
As of 2011, an intermodal road-rail freight terminal Sheffield International Rail Freight Terminal is located on part of the site; it was built c2008. A set of sidings is operated by DB Schenker Rail serving the nearby Outokumpu steel works.

History
The venue was opened in 1992 when Sheffield Hallam University officially gained university status. It has since been used by a variety of the university's sports teams including football and rugby league. In 2013 rugby league team Sheffield Eagles joined with SHU to form the Sheffield Hallam Eagles which acts as a reserve team for the Sheffield Eagles. In 2016 Sheffield Eagles became tenants while the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Stadium was being built.
