Valley Centertainment

Valley Centertainment is a leisure and entertainment complex in the Don Valley in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It was built on land previously occupied by steel mills which also includes what is now Meadowhall shopping centre and the Utilita Arena. It is home to several restaurants, bars, a cinema, and a bowling alley as well as other attractions.

Broughton Lane railway station

Broughton Lane railway station was a railway station in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The station served the communities of Darnall, Attercliffe and Carbrook and was one of those opened on 1 August 1864 with the South Yorkshire Railway's extension south from Tinsley Junction to Woodburn Junction where it met the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway (MS&LR). The day the line was opened the SYR became part of the MS&LR. This link allowed the MS&LR access to Barnsley and Rotherham from Sheffield Victoria. The station, with its main access by steps from Broughton Lane bridge, possessed two flanking platforms although was surrounded by sidings. The station closed on 3 April 1956 and there are now no signs of it ever existing. In the 1960s a new line was built from near Broughton Lane into the newly opened Tinsley Marshalling Yard and shortly afterwards this was electrified. The site of the station is below the new Greenland Road viaduct over the line and canal near the foundations of the old bridge. Sheffield Supertram now uses the site and the nearest tram stop is near the local arena. The sign for Broughton Lane Junction still exists and is visible from the Supertram tracks.

Tinsley Park Cemetery

Tinsley Park Cemetery is one of the city of Sheffield's many cemeteries. It was opened in 1882, and covers 19 acres (77,000 m2). The cemetery is still open to burials, and since the first burial on 2 June 1882 over 59,000 burials have taken place. There are buried in the cemetery 42 Commonwealth service personnel from World War I and 32 from World War II. The entranceway to the cemetery is flanked by a pair of Grade II listed Gothic style chapels, where services can be held prior to the burial. Other listed structures in the cemetery include the lodge, gateway and boundary wall and a war memorial, 250m east of the chapel.

A6178 road

The A6178 is a 4 digit A road in South Yorkshire, England. It begins in the Lower Don Valley area of Sheffield, at a junction with the A6109 (Fred Mulley Way). The road heads northeast, crossing the River Don before passing through Attercliffe. The road passes a junction with Staniforth Road before passing the Don Valley Bowl, IceSheffield, the English Institute of Sport and the historic Hill Top Chapel. The road meets a junction with the A6102 at Carbrook, before continuing northeast as Attercliffe Common passing Valley Centertainment and the South Yorkshire Police headquarters. The road passes a number of car dealerships including Porsche and Mercedes before meeting the entrance to the Meadowhall Shopping Centre. Continuing East, the road meets a junction with the M1 at the large Tinsley Roundabout at the Tinsley Viaduct. The road continues into Templeborough, passing various old steel mills and the Magna Science Adventure Centre. Continuing east, the road passes a junction with the A630 before crossing the River Rother close to its meeting with the River Don. The road enters Rotherham, terminating at a roundabout at a junction with the A6021.
