Beighton ()—which includes the districts of Beighton, Hackenthorpe, Owlthorpe, and Sothall—is one of the 28 electoral wards in City of Sheffield, England. It is located in the eastern part of the city, on the border with Rotherham and covers an area of 5.7 km2. The population of this ward in 2011 was 17,939 people in 7,538 households.
Before 1967, the districts of this ward formed part of Derbyshire. In that year an extension of the then County Borough of Sheffield took in the area, which was consequently transferred to the West Riding of Yorkshire. In 1974 the area became part of the City of Sheffield, in the metropolitan and ceremonial county of South Yorkshire.

Anston railway station
Anston railway station was situated on the Great Central and Midland Joint Railway line between the villages of North Anston and South Anston near Rotherham and Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England.
Passenger services on the line, which came under the control of the South Yorkshire Joint Committee began on 7 December 1910 and were jointly operated by the Great Central Railway and the Great Northern Railway. The Great Northern Railway left this arrangement after just one year leaving the G.C.R. to offer a service between Doncaster and Shireoaks. This service was extended to Worksop in 1920 in an attempt to increase passenger revenues.

Anston Stones Wood
Anston Stones Wood (grid reference SK531831) is a 33.7 hectare (88.3 acre) biological site of Special Scientific Interest in South Yorkshire. The site was notified in 1955. The site contains the second best example of limestone woodland in South Yorkshire. It is also a Local Nature Reserve.
