St James Church, St Andrews

St James is a small Roman Catholic church at 17 The Scores (next to the seashore) in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. The church was designed by Reginald Fairlie and built in 1910, replacing a former 'tin' church, and is a Category B listed building. As of summer 2024 the Parish Priest is Msgr Patrick Burke who is also honorary Roman Catholic Chaplain to the University of St Andrews.

New Picture House

The New Picture House (often called the NPH) is an independent cinema in St Andrews, Scotland. The cinema opened in December 1930 with an original capacity of 910 seats and one screen, though was subsequently remodelled to contain three screens later equipped with traditional film projectors, digital projectors, and 3D projectors. In September 2024, the cinema closed to allow works to turn the venue into a luxury sports bar, and is due to reopen in summer 2025. In October 2023, T-Squared Social, a luxury sports bar chain owned by NEXUS Luxury Collection and founded its namesakes and NEXUS shareholders Justin Timberlake and Tiger Woods, announced plans to open a new location within the New Picture House. If approved, plans will see the venue retaining only one screen. The rest of the venue is to host bar and dining areas, lounges, golf simulators, bowling, dart lanes, and other entertainment. The New Picture House hopes that the development will secure its long-term future while providing a wider range of entertainment experiences within the town. Some local residents have criticised the plans, concerned that St Andrews would lose its only cinema, and arguing that a sports bar is designed to appeal to tourists and does not fit in with the town. On 19 September 2024, the New Picture House showed its last film as an independent picture house and closed prior to works commencing for the T-Squared Social sports bar. The venue is due to reopen once renovation works are complete in summer 2025.

Museum of the University of St Andrews

The Wardlaw Museum is associated with the University of St Andrews. The museum houses a selection of the university's historic, artistic and scientific collections, which comprise over 115,000 artefacts. They are displayed across four galleries which aim to tell the story of the university. The newly refurbished museum now has an extended temporary exhibition space as well as a new research studio and extended gift shop. also contains a 'Learning Loft' for workshops and a viewing terrace with panoramic views over St Andrews Bay.

St Salvator's College, St Andrews

St Salvator's College was a college of the University of St Andrews in St Andrews, Scotland. Founded in 1450, it is the oldest of the university's colleges. In 1747 it merged with St Leonard's College to form United College.

St Salvator's Chapel

St Salvator's Chapel is one of two collegiate chapels belonging to the University of St Andrews, the other being St Leonard's Chapel, situated in the grounds of the adjacent St Leonard's School. The chapel, also known as St Salvator's College Church, was founded in 1450, by Bishop James Kennedy, built in the Late Gothic architectural style, and refurbished in the 1680s, 1860s and throughout the 20th century. It is currently the chapel of the United college as well as being the major university chapel. Students and members of the public regularly attend its numerous services, including twice weekly Choral Evensong and, most popularly, Sunday services. The Sunday services are followed by the famous pier walk, in which students walk to the pier and back in academic procession. Other services are held occasionally to mark graduations and other such occasions, and the chapel also hosts wedding ceremonies for many of the university's alumni. The chapel has its own choir, The St Salvator's Chapel Choir, which sings at most services. The name St Salvator is a reference to Jesus Christ and the former college for which the chapel was built founded by Bishop Kennedy. St Salvator's is the only University Chapel in Scotland with a full ring of six bells suitable for change ringing. Four new bells, Agnes, Margaret, George, and Annie, were added to Katherine and Elizabeth (the existing bells) as part of the university's 600th anniversary celebrations in 2010, also marking the 550th anniversary of the chapel.
