East Appleton - Izeria

East Appleton is a hamlet in North Yorkshire, England. The poet Richard Braithwaite lived there on his estate, and was buried in the parish church. Roger Strickland later inherited the estate from Braithwaite's widow.

Appleton East and West is a civil parish in the county of North Yorkshire, England. It contains the villages East Appleton and West Appleton, and had a population of 76 according to the 2001 census, remaining at less than 100 in the 2011 Census. From this date population details are maintained within the parish of Hornby. The settlement consists of two farms, with several water bodies in the area. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the district of Richmondshire, it is now administered by the unitary North Yorkshire Council. RAF Catterick

Royal Air Force Catterick or RAF Catterick is a former Royal Air Force sector station located near Catterick, North Yorkshire in England. It is located alongside the A6055 road on the outskirts of Catterick Village. Although initially a flying station, RAF Catterick was primarily the depot of the RAF Regiment for nearly 50 years. The station closed in 1994 and was transferred to the British Army to become Marne Barracks. Operationally it falls under the command of Catterick Garrison. It currently houses 5th Regiment Royal Artillery and 32 Engineer Regiment.

Church of St Anne, Catterick

The Church of St Anne is a parish church in the village of Catterick, North Yorkshire, England. The present church structure dates back to the early 15th century, but some of its stones are from an earlier structure located on the same site. A place of worship in Catterick village is believed to have been in existence since the 7th century. The church has been dedicated to Saint Anne since its original consecration date of 1415. The contract between the benefactors of the church and their stonemason is one of the oldest contractual documents written in English and has provided much insight into the Northern English dialect at that time. The north side of the church has a small section dedicated to the Royal Air Force Regiment who had their home depot at the nearby RAF Catterick between 1946 and 1994.
