Prestwick Academy

Prestwick Academy (Scottish Gaelic: Acadamaidh Prestwick) is an 11–18 non-denominational secondary school in the town of Prestwick, South Ayrshire in Scotland. The school is the responsibility of South Ayrshire Council, with its current head teacher Oonagh Browne having overall responsibility for the school's day–to–day running. With a pupil roll of 1,201 in 2023–2024, it is the second-largest secondary school in South Ayrshire by pupil intake. The motto of Prestwick Academy is Per Vias Rectas, Latin for By Straight Paths. Prestwick Academy serves the town of Prestwick, part of North Ayr, and the villages of Symington and Monkton. There are five cluster primary schools: Glenburn, Heathfield, Kingcase, Monkton and Symington.

Prestwick Town railway station

Prestwick Town railway station is a railway station serving the town of Prestwick, South Ayrshire, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Ayrshire Coast Line. Originally known only as Prestwick, it was one of the original stations on the Ayr to Irvine portion of the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway opened in August 1839. Prestwick Town is one of the few stations on the Ayrshire Coast Line that remains staffed (the ticket office being staffed part-time, seven days per week - Monday - Saturday 06:35 - 17:50, Sunday 09:10 - 16:50). Facilities include a medium-sized car park and a café is present in the station building itself. The ticket office at Prestwick Town has recently been refurbished, and now includes a height-adjustable ticket desk and automatic doors. Smartcard validators have been installed at the entrances to both platforms. Step-free access is only available on platform 2, as the opposite platform is only reachable via a stepped footbridge or steep ramp from the nearby road.

The Broadway Cinema (Prestwick)

The Broadway Cinema is an Art Deco category C-listed building in Prestwick, South Ayrshire, Scotland. Opened on 29 April 1935, the Broadway has operated as a cinema, bingo hall, and leisure centre, before a period of dereliction ending with the acquisition of the building by registered charity Friends of the Broadway Prestwick on 29 April 2024.
