Prestwick International Airport railway station

Prestwick International Airport railway station (formerly known as Glasgow Prestwick Airport station) serves Glasgow Prestwick Airport, near the town of Prestwick, South Ayrshire, Scotland. The station is 37+3⁄4 miles (60.8 km) south west of Glasgow Central, on the Ayrshire Coast Line. It opened on 5 September 1994. It is currently the only railway station in Scotland that is directly connected to an airport. It is also the only railway station in Scotland not managed by ScotRail or Network Rail.

Monkton railway station

Monkton railway station was a railway station on the Glasgow to Ayr main line serving the village of Monkton, Ayrshire, Scotland. It opened in 1839. Monkton did not develop and the station was closed in 1940. The location may be identified by the overbridge that leads to Monkton House. The site of the former station is occupied by fuel sidings used by Prestwick Airport.

Prestwick Town railway station

Prestwick Town railway station is a railway station serving the town of Prestwick, South Ayrshire, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Ayrshire Coast Line. Originally known only as Prestwick, it was one of the original stations on the Ayr to Irvine portion of the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway opened in August 1839. Prestwick Town is one of the few stations on the Ayrshire Coast Line that remains staffed (the ticket office being staffed part-time, seven days per week - Monday - Saturday 06:35 - 17:50, Sunday 09:10 - 16:50). Facilities include a medium-sized car park and a café is present in the station building itself. The ticket office at Prestwick Town has recently been refurbished, and now includes a height-adjustable ticket desk and automatic doors. Smartcard validators have been installed at the entrances to both platforms. Step-free access is only available on platform 2, as the opposite platform is only reachable via a stepped footbridge or steep ramp from the nearby road.

1977 British Airtours Boeing 707 crash

On 17 March 1977, a British Airtours Boeing 707 being used for pilot training crashed and caught fire during its take-off roll at Glasgow Prestwick Airport. All four crew members on board survived.

Prestwick Burgh Hall, also known as Prestwick Freeman's Hall and Prestwick Freemen's Hall, is a municipal building in Kirk Street, Prestwick, Scotland. The structure, which served as the meeting place of Prestwick Burgh Council, is a Category B listed building.
