Inverkeithing High School

Inverkeithing High School is a secondary school located in Inverkeithing, a historic town on Fife's southern coast 3½ miles from Dunfermline city centre, 9½ miles from Edinburgh city centre, and in between the towns and villages of Dalgety Bay, Rosyth and North Queensferry. The school has around 1,500 pupils (with students ranging in age from 11 to 18), with 94% of students coming from within the catchment area and 6% of students coming from outside the catchment area. The school employs approximately 150 staff. The school has a swimming pool, football pitches, AstroTurf and tennis courts, and has been a Category B Listed Building since 2004. Inverkeithing High School will be replaced by the new Caledonia High School in the neighbouring town of Rosyth in August 2026. This year marks the final year of Inverkeithing High Schools operation. The building will have the capacity to accommodate 1735 pupils, over three floors, with an open 'see and be seen' approach throughout the school.

Inverkeithing

Bataille d'Inverkeithing

La bataille d'Inverkeithing se déroule le 20 juillet 1651, à Inverkeithing en Écosse. Elle est l'une des dernières batailles de la guerre anglo-écossaise de 1650-1652. Les troupes parlementaires de la New Model Army commandées par John Lambert remportent la victoire sur l'armée royaliste, prédominément écossaise, de Charles II d'Angleterre, menée par David Leslie (en).

Donibristle

Donibristle est une maison et un domaine à Fife, en Écosse, sur la côte du Firth of Forth. Seules les ailes de la maison subsistent, au sein de la colonie moderne de Dalgety Bay. Ils sont désormais protégés en tant que bâtiment classé de catégorie A. Donibristle est le théâtre du meurtre de James Stewart, 2e comte de Moray, en 1592, dont on se souvient dans la ballade The Bonnie Earl O' Moray.

North Queensferry

North Queensferry est un village du council area de Fife en Écosse, sur la rive nord du Firth of Forth, entre le pont du Forth ferroviaire, son pont suspendu homonyme routier et un troisième pont à haubans, le nouveau pont du Forth, mis en service en 2017, à 16 km d'Édimbourg. Selon l'estimation de 2011, le village a une population de 1 076 habitants.
