Scotstoun Stadium

Le Scotstoun Stadium est un stade destiné à l'athlétisme, au rugby situé dans le quartier de West End de la ville de Glasgow, en Écosse. Le complexe est utilisé depuis la saison 2012-2013 par la franchise écossaise de rugby à XV des Glasgow Warriors pour leurs matchs à domicile, en remplacement de Firhill Stadium. L'équipe utilisait déjà ce stade comme terrain d'entraînement depuis 2009. Le stade a également été le théâtre depuis l'édition 2012 du Scotland rugby sevens, la manche écossaise du IRB Sevens World Series. La piste d'athlétisme a servi de terrain d'entrainement pour les athlètes présents aux Jeux du Commonwealth de 2014, dont Glasgow a été la ville hôte.

Fossil Grove

Fossil Grove est un ensemble de fossiles situé à Glasgow, en Écosse, dans le parc Victoria. Il a été découvert en 1887 et contient les souches fossilisées et les racines de onze arbres du genre Lepidodendron, parfois décrits comme des « Lycopodiopsida géantes », mais qui sont plus étroitement liés aux isoètes. Ces souches se trouvent à l'intérieur d'un bâtiment construit pour les protéger des éléments. Fossil Grove est géré comme un musée et constitue la plus ancienne attraction touristique de Glasgow depuis son ouverture au public en 1890.

Knightswood

History

The congregation started as Hillhead Free Church in 1854, although it was initially a "preaching station" rather than a "sanctioned charge" of the Free Church of Scotland. The congregation initially met in a school in Knightswood Road, with the first building being constructed nearby in 1858. Following serious structural problems with the building (largely arising from coal mining in the area), a decision was made to move to a new site. The first services in the current building were held on 11 June 1905. The name was changed to Jordanhill Free Church in 1888. Following the creation of the United Free Church of Scotland in 1900, the name was changed to Jordanhill United Free Church. The name again changed in 1929, following the union of the United Free Church with the Church of Scotland, becoming "Jordanhill Church of Scotland" and - from 1979 - simply "Jordanhill Parish Church". [1] The congregation were linked with Blawarthill Parish Church and St Columba Gaelic Church on 25 September 2025.
