Ingol - Izeria

Ingol is an electoral ward and suburb of Preston, Lancashire, England. The population of the Ward as taken at the 2011 census was 7,369. The ward also includes the district of Tanterton. The ward is coterminous with the civil parish of Ingol and Tanterton, created in 2012. With a golf course within its boundaries and continued new housing development, the area is suburban in its northern and central areas with a more significant low income housing area in its eastern part. Ingol and Tanterton straddle the historic boundary between the former County Borough of Preston and Fulwood Urban District. Ingol has running through it the main Woodplumpton Road running from Preston's Lane Ends shopping community to the villages in the parish of Woodplumpton and the borough of Wyre. It is served by a library, a community centre several churches and shops. The citywide orbital service provided by Preston Bus cuts through both suburban and new-build areas of the Ingol area. Three members of Preston City Council, elected 'in thirds' in first past the post elections each year, are returned from the ward. The ward forms part of the Lancashire County Council electoral division of Preston West.

1. Demographics

From the 2001 census, the area had a population of 7,395. Of this figure, 79% described themselves as Christian. At the 2008 local elections, the valid electorate for Ingol ward was 5,642.

1. Geography

The ward is in the west of the city with the M55 motorway at its northern edge, largely following Woodplumpton Road from Tulketh to the boundary of Woodplumpton parish, then continuing through terraced and detached housing in an easterly direction. A number of Preston Bus services use the local roads through the area.

1. Ingol and Tanterton neighbourhood

In April 2012, the civil parish of Ingol and Tanterton was created, styled as a "neighbourhood" with a neighbourhood council. The neighbourhood has the same boundaries as Ingol ward, and was previously part of the unparished area of Preston.

La population comptait 2 467 habitants en 2021. La paroisse est incluse dans le quartier Preston Rural East du conseil municipal de Preston et dans la division Preston Rural du conseil du comté de Lancashire. La paroisse (officiellement Broughton-in-Amounderness) faisait partie du district rural de Preston tout au long de son existence de 1894 à 1974. En 1974, la paroisse est devenue une partie de l'arrondissement de Preston, qui est devenu une ville en 2002.

Deepdale

Deepdale Stadium est un stade de football localisé à Preston. C'est l'enceinte du club de Preston North End. Tandis que de nombreuses équipes se sont déplacées d'un endroit à un autre dans leur histoire à court ou long terme, Preston North End est resté fidèle au terrain en PR1, devenant leur maison depuis le 21 janvier 1875, lorsque les membres du club ont loué la parcelle de terrain. Le 5 octobre 1878, Preston North End y jouait son premier match sous les règles de l'association contre Eagley et a été perdu 1-0. Le stade a accueilli son premier match de la ligue le 8 septembre 1888, lorsque les rivaux locaux Burnley ont été battus 5-2. Il avait auparavant tenu de nombreux matches de rugby et de nombreuses rencontres locales avant la formation de la Ligue de football. Le record d'affluence est de 42 684 spectateurs le 23 avril 1938 pour un match de championnat Preston North End-Arsenal. Le terrain fut équipé d'un système d'éclairage pour les matchs en nocturne en octobre 1953.
