Jilemnice (Czech pronunciation: [ˈjɪlɛmɲɪtsɛ]; German: Starkenbach) is a town in Semily District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 5,400 inhabitants. It is located on the Jilemka Stream in the Giant Mountains Foothills. Jilemnice was founded in the first half of the 14th century. The main period of development was the 18th century, when the town was owned by the Harrach family.
