K.A.P. Viswanatham Medical College is a medical college started in 1997 and named after famous Tamil scholar K.A.P. Viswanatham. It started with a capacity to accommodate 100 Under graduate students. Since the year 2007, Post graduate courses were also started. Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital is attached to K.A.P.V Medical College.

Siège de Trichinopoly

Le siège de Trichinopoly se déroula de juillet 1751 à avril 1752 en Inde du Sud, dans le cadre de la deuxième guerre carnatique. Il opposa une armée indienne commandée par le nabab du Carnate Chanda Sahib, assistée d'un contingent français sous les ordres de Louis-Hubert de Combault d'Auteuil puis de Jacques-François Law de Lauriston, à la garnison britannique de Trichinopoly dirigée par Muhammad Ali Khan Wallajah et par le capitaine Gingins. Après plusieurs mois de siège, les troupes franco-indiennes, menacées par l'arrivée d'une colonne de secours anglaise, abandonnèrent le siège et se replièrent sur l'île de Srirangam.

Aéroport international de Trichy

L'aéroport international de Trichy ou Aéroport international de Tiruchirappalli est un aéroport international desservant la métropole de Trichy dans l'État de Tamil Nadu en Inde. Il est situé à 5 kilomètres au sud de la ville. L'aéroport de Trichy est un des aéroports du pays se développant le plus rapidement, faisant de lui le troisième plus important de l'état de Tamil Nadu après l'Aéroport international de Chennai et l'Aéroport international de Coimbatore. L'aéroport de Trichy est déclaré Aéroport International le 4 octobre 2012. L'aéroport bénéficie d'importants travaux de rénovation et d'agrandissement. Un nouveau terminal est inauguré le 2 janvier 2024 par le premier ministre Narendra Modi. Ce nouveau bâtiment est capable d'accueillir 4,4 millions de passagers par an, et 3 500 passagers en heure de pointe.

Temple de Sri Ranganathaswamy

Le temple de Sri Ranganathaswamy, situé à Srirangam, dans le Tamil Nadu, est un temple hindou consacré à Ranganatha, la forme de repos de Vishnou. Dans le culte sri vishnouïte, c’est le premier et principal des 108 Divya Desams, demeures sacrées de Vishnou. Le festival de chars qui a lieu lors des 21 jours suivant le Vaikunta Ekadasi y est réputé ; à cette occasion, un texte vishnouite, le Tiruvaimozhi, est récité face à Vishnou.

It is situated 2 km away from the college campus. It run by the state government of Tamil Nadu, which is recognized by the National Medical Commission. It is located in the city of Trichy, in Tamil Nadu. The college was ranked third by students in counselling in 2010.

Admission

The college admits 150 students to the MB BS course once every year through NEET. Of this 85% is state quota which is allotted by DME of Government of Tamil Nadu and the remaining 15% is All India Quota allotted by MCC of Central Government of Republic of India.

Facilities

The college has more than 30 departments. There are three men's hostels and two women's hostels on campus. It has a stadium that seats 750. There are four lecture halls with over 150 seats. The Central Library is home to over 7,000 books and national and international journals. It has two reading halls, one for masters and the other for professors. There are two indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including a gymnasium, a basketball court, a feather ball stadium, a badminton and two volleyball courts. It also has the ability to play round ball, golf ball, table tennis, soccer and foot ball.
