Le château de Termes (Tèrme en occitan) est un château dit cathare situé dans le département de l'Aude. Au cœur du massif calcaire des Corbières, Termes se trouve à une quarantaine de kilomètres au sud-est de Carcassonne. Il est candidat pour l'inscription au patrimoine de l'UNESCO conjointement avec la cité de Carcassonne, l'ensemble des Forteresses royales du Languedoc, les « Cinq fils de Carcassonne » dont il fait partie avec les châteaux d'Aguilar, de Peyrepertuse, de Puilaurens, de Quéribus et de et également avec les châteaux de Montségur et de Lastours.

The Siege of Termes was a military engagement which took place from August to November 1210 during the Albigensian Crusade. It took place in the Languedoc region of southern France at the Castle of Termes. The Siege was led by Simon de Montfort as part of the Crusader effort to eliminate Catharism, a Christian sect regarded as heretical, from Southern France. After nearly four months of siege, the castle fell on the 22nd of November.

The Château de Durfort is a ruined castle in the commune of Vignevieille in the Aude département of France. It is 27 km east of Limoux and 3 km north of the Château de Termes.
It was erected on a rocky piton which overlooks the valley of the Orbieu. The present ruins are those of a strengthened habitat, including a chapel, dwellings with rectangular windows and a tower. High thick walls, cellars and wells, arched rooms of square buildings, corner turrets, watch towers and a main tower are still visible.
