Finnart Oil Terminal

Finnart Oil Terminal, also known as Finnart Ocean Terminal or Chap Point, is an oil depot on the eastern shore of Loch Long, Firth of Clyde on the west coast of Scotland, about 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Garelochhead on the A814 road to Arrochar. It has piers extending a short distance into the loch, providing a deep water berth for oil tankers up to 324,000 tonnes. Two pipelines connect the terminal across Scotland to the Grangemouth Refinery on the Firth of Forth on the east coast, and extensive oil storage tanks have been built into the hillside on both sides of the main road.

Portincaple

Portincaple is a hamlet on the shores of Loch Long in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It was once a fishing village sending its catch to market via the old railway station at Whistlefield. For thirty years until his death in 1942, Portincaple was the home of Scottish artist James Kay. Whistlefield, later Whistlefield Halt, was a station 10.30 miles (16.58 kilometres) from Craigendoran Junction railway station served the hamlet of Portincaple and the surrounding area. Opened in 1896 by the West Highland Railway, it was built on a single track section without a passing loop in between Garelochhead and Glen Douglas and closed by the British Railways Board in 1964.

Beinn Reithe

Beinn Reithe is a mountain in Argyll in the Scottish Highlands and forms part of the Ardgoil Peninsula and Arrochar Alps. Beinn Reithe is located between Loch Goil and Loch Long; it reaches a height just over 2,000 feet (600 metres). The mountain is most noticeable from the western shores of Loch Goil and it is also within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
