Little Benton

Little Benton is a small suburb of Newcastle upon Tyne, which holds two modern housing estates (Church Green and Haydon Grange) along with the site of Newcastle United's academy base. The closest amenities can be found at Four Lane Ends, one mile away. In the 19th century, Little Benton was a hamlet. Until the 1980s, it housed nothing more than a farmer's field and a riding stable, which was demolished to make way for Haydon Grange, the newer of the two estates. It was also a popular location for railway photographers taking pictures of trains on the East Coast Main Line.

Darsley Park

Newcastle United Training Centre, more commonly known as "Darsley Park" is the training ground of Premier League club Newcastle United. It lies next door to the Northumberland Football Association base at Whitley Park, North Tyneside, England. Since July 2003 Newcastle United's first team have trained at the purpose-built centre. The academy train in a separate facility at Little Benton, south of Darsley Park. The complex comprises four buildings: the main building which houses the main reception, changing rooms, managerial offices, meeting rooms, gym, physiotherapy, restaurant and a recreation area. Adjacent to this is the laundry area where all the strips and training gear are taken care of. Next, is the indoor pitch, a full-size pitch with a rubber-based astroturf, called FieldTurf, shielded from the elements by a tough canvas covering. Finally there is the green-keepers' building.

Longbenton is a district of North Tyneside, in the county of Tyne and Wear, England. It is largely occupied by an extensive estate originally built as municipal housing by Newcastle City Council in the 1930s and extended in the 1950s. It is served by the Tyne and Wear Metro stations Longbenton Metro station and Four Lane Ends Metro Station. Nearby places are Killingworth, Forest Hall, Four Lane Ends, West Moor, Heaton and South Gosforth, in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Longbenton and Killingworth Urban Area had a population of 34,878 in 2001. This figure increased to 37,070 in 2011.
