The Naadam festival, which celebrates Mongolian independence, is held there every July. The land owned by the stadium company is about 27 hectares, of which the stadium takes about 8 hectares of land. The National Sport Stadium in Mongolia hosted the 2016 World University Archery Championship.

The Green Palace is the imperial winter residence of the Bogd Khan, ruler of Mongolia, located in Khan Uul, Ulaanbaatar. It was also called the "Green Temple of the River" due its location.
Inside the complex is the Bogd Khan Palace Museum, housed in the Winter Palace building. Alongside being the oldest museum, it is also considered as one with the biggest collection in Mongolia. The palace is the only one left from originally four residences of the Bogd Khan.

It was part of a larger complex called the "Green Palace", an imperial residence of the eighth Jebtsundamba Khutughtu, who was later proclaimed Bogd Khan, or ruler of Mongolia. Alongside being the oldest museum, it is also considered to hold the biggest collection in Mongolia. The palace is the only one left of four original residences of the Bogd Khan.

Overview
It is used for football matches and has an artificial playing surface. The newly-expanded 5,000 seat stadium at the football centre opened in October 2013. It hosted Mongolia's qualification campaigns for the AFC Challenge Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup. In September 2022, the 110m x 73m field was resurfaced using a foam, sand, and cork mixture instead of rubber, a process that was newly-approved by FIFA. The stadium became the first in the country to feature the fully recyclable surface.
