Temple Newsam Preceptory

Temple Newsam Preceptory (grid reference SE353309) was a Templar farmstead, just east of Leeds, in West Yorkshire, England. The term "preceptory" may be paraphrased as a "school of principles", and was the generic term for Templar communities.

Skelton Lake services (also known as Leeds Skelton Lake services) is a motorway service area operated by Extra, on the M1 motorway's junction 45 near Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is south of the motorway junction, making it accessible from both carriageways and the A63 (linking to Leeds centre).

Gateway 45

Gateway 45 is an industrial estate and park and ride location on the south eastern edge of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The site was initially developed under the name Temple Green and is located with the M1 Motorway on its southern edge and the A63 road on its eastern edge. In July 2018, it was announced that the site had been selected as the location of the planned High Speed 2 phase 2 rolling stock maintenance depot.

Wyke Beck

Wyke Beck is a stream that runs from Roundhay Park to the River Aire in east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Described as an Urban Beck, the stream flows through housing estates and then an industrial landscape in its lower reaches. Wyke Beck has been prone to flooding so often, that remediation of its course and flood storage schemes have been initiated by Leeds City Council. The Wyke Beck is a green corridor through east Leeds and flows through, or near, five local nature reserves. Industrial development in its lower reaches has had an impact on the beck and future developments may also mean a reduction in sites for wildlife. A proposal to site a railway depot in the Temple Green/Knostrop area, has been identified as potentially damaging to a colony of white-clawed crayfish.

Temple Newsam

Temple Newsam (historically Temple Newsham), is a Tudor-Jacobean house in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, with grounds landscaped by Capability Brown. The house is a Grade I listed building, one of eight Leeds Museums and Galleries sites and part of the research group, Yorkshire Country House Partnership. The estate lends its name to the Temple Newsam ward of Leeds City Council, in which it is situated, and lies to the east of the city, just south of Halton Moor, Halton, Whitkirk and Colton.
