Austerlands
Austerlands is a suburban area of Saddleworth, a civil parish within the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, in Greater Manchester, England. It occupies a hillside amongst the Pennines, between the villages of Lees and Scouthead. It is traversed by the A62 road. Historically, Austerlands has been positioned on the West Riding of Yorkshire side of the ancient county boundary with Lancashire. The chimney of the former Austerlands Mill is a local landmark. Austerlands is contiguous with Waterhead area of Oldham, the village of Lees and Scouthead and Springhead areas of Saddleworth. For purposes of the Office for National Statistics, Austerlands forms the eastern fringe of the Greater Manchester Urban Area.

Scouthead
Scouthead is a village in the civil parish of Saddleworth in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, in Greater Manchester, England. It is traversed by the A62 road, and occupies a hillside amongst the Pennines.
Historically a part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, Scouthead stands on the old Wool Road between Lancashire and Yorkshire and contains several hostelries which were once important staging posts along the road. Scouthead hosts an annual band contest on Whit Friday.
Scouthead occupies outlying land to the east of the Waterhead area of Oldham, and Austerlands area of Saddleworth. For purposes of the Office for National Statistics, Scouthead forms the eastern fringe of the Greater Manchester Urban Area.

Lees Urban District
Lees (or Lees Urban District) was from 1894 to 1974, a local government district in the administrative county of Lancashire, England.
It was created an urban district in 1894 by the Local Government Act 1894 and included the civil parish of Lees and part of the Crossbank hamlet. It was an exclave of the administrative county of Lancaster, being bordered to the west by the county borough of Oldham, and to the east by the West Riding of Yorkshire.
In 1974 Lees Urban District was abolished by the Local Government Act 1972 and its former area transferred to Greater Manchester to form part of the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham.
