In 2011, its village panchayat was dissolved and merged with Madurai Corporation. Also, as there are many centre medians at short intervals on this highway, it is considered that accidents are likely to occur. This four-lane road is known to be the longest road in Tamil Nadu and shortens the travel distance considerably.

Devadoss Hospital is a private hospital located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India was founded by orthopedist Prof. A. Devadoss. The hospital was inaugurated in 2007.
