Kuinre (Low Saxon: De Kuunder) is a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It was a separate municipality until 1973, when it became a part of IJsselham, which in turn merged into the municipality of Steenwijkerland in 2001. Kuinre is a former harbour town with a rich history. Back in the days of the Zuiderzee, Kuinre's harbour was an important port of the Zuiderzee.

The village was first mentioned in 1398 as Slickenborg; its name refers to a borg on silted soil.
In 1580, a sluice was built in Slijkenburg. In 1672, a sconce was built around the village to protect against the Prince-Bishop of Münster. Slijkenburg was home to 68 people in 1840.

The village was first mentioned in 1320 as Spangghe. The etymology is unclear. The Dutch Reformed church was demolished in 1831. In 1851, a bell tower was erected as its replacement. The tower was destroyed during a storm in 1954, and a new tower was built in 1955 which was replaced in 1989.
