Voice of Mongolia

Voice of Mongolia is the official international broadcasting station of Mongolia. The Voice Of Mongolia is the country's only overseas broadcasting service and is operated by Mongolian National Broadcaster, a pioneer sole public service broadcaster. Short-wave international broadcasting in Mongolia dates back over 60 years. The first broadcast in October, 1964 was a half hour transmission in Mongolian and Chinese, beamed to China. In the next few years, Mongolian international broadcasting expanded in terms of languages used, broadcast hours and target areas. The English service of Radio Ulaanbaatar, which was renamed The Voice Of Mongolia on January 1, 1997, was launched on January 29, 1965. Today the output of The Voice Of Mongolia consists of various programmes designed to provide information about Mongolia and the Mongolians, their history, traditions and culture. It broadcasts a total of 8 hours a day in 5 languages: Mongolian, English, Chinese, Russian and Japanese.

The Voice of Mongolia season 1

The Voice of Mongolia is a Mongolian reality talent show that aims to discover new singing talents. The first season, premiered on January 21, 2018 on Mongol HDTV. The series is part of the franchise The Voice and is based on a similar competition format in the Netherlands, The Voice of Holland. The series was created by Dutch television producer John de Mol. It is part of an international series. The winner receives ₮100,000,000 amount of a record deal with Universal Music Group's Mongolian official representative, Mongol Content LLC, and a Nissan Qashqai. Otgonbayar Damba, Bold Dorjsuren, Ulambayar Davaa, Ononbat Sed are the coaches. Each team of singers are mentored and developed by their coach. In the second stage, coaches have two of their team members battle against each other by singing the same song, with the coach choosing which team member to advance. In the final phase, the remaining contestants of a team, compete against each other in live broadcasts. The television audience helps to decide who advances. When one remains for each coach, the four contestants compete against each other in the finale. Enguun Tseyendash was announced as the winner of the season, beating Team Otgoo's Bolormaa A, Team Bold's Ariunjargal Jantsannorov & Team Ononbat's Usukhbayar Batsaikhan, marking Uka's first win as a coach.

History

The power plant was commissioned in November 2015. On 4 December 2015, the opening of the power plant was officiated in a ceremony preceded by Energy Minister Dashzeveg Zorigt and other government officials. In June 2022, expansion work of the power plant started to expand its generating capacity.

Technical specifications

The power plant has an installed capacity of 348 MW. It consists of three steam turbine with each rated at 116 MW. The power plant supplies electricity mostly to the eastern part of Ulaanbaatar. It also acts as a district heating for Ulaanbaatar.
