Capital North East is a regional radio station owned and operated by Global as part of the Capital network. It broadcasts to North East England. The station launched on 1 June 1999 as Galaxy 105–106, renamed in 2006 as Galaxy North East and rebranded on 3 January 2011 as Capital North East.

St James Metro station
St James is a Tyne and Wear Metro station, serving St James' Park, Newcastle upon Tyne in Tyne and Wear, England. It joined the network as a terminus station on 14 November 1982, following the opening of the fourth phase of the network, between Tynemouth and St James via Wallsend.

Shearer's Bar
Shearer's Bar is the name of a sports bar owned by Newcastle United and forming part of St James' Park, the team's stadium in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It was named in honour of the club's all-time top scorer, Alan Shearer. The bar was renamed Nine in July 2013 by the club, who said that popularity of the venue had "dwindled". In March 2022 it was renamed back to Shearers by the new ownership.
The bar was opened in December 2004 and became an important part of the features at St James' Park. It is designed for the supporters and usually hosts up to 1000 people on a match-day. Since it opened it has become a city attraction and has won awards, including "Best Bar None" Award in 2007. The bar was refurbished in response to competition from The Terrace bar next door.

Policy, Ethics and Life Sciences Research Centre
The Policy, Ethics and Life Sciences Research Centre (PEALS) was established in 1999 as a partnership between the University of Durham, Newcastle University and the Centre for Life.
PEALS aims to research, inform and improve policy, professional practice and democratic participation in the life sciences. It particularly promotes research and debate on the social and ethical aspects of genetics and other life sciences.
The Centre publishes the Teach Yourself Citizens Juries Handbook.
