Ishinomori Manga Museum, also known as the Ishinomaki Mangattan Museum, is a museum in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. It opened in 2001 to commemorate the works of manga artist and author Shotaro Ishinomori, who was born in what would become the present day Ishinomaki City. It sits on the bay facing the Pacific Ocean and Tashirojima, a.k.a. "Manga Island".
After the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, though still standing, the Ishinomori Manga Museum was closed for repairs before reopening on November 17, 2012. The following year, they had a renewal ceremony that included actors Hiroshi Fujioka and Yuki Sato as well as singer Ichirou Mizuki, who have all been involved in works created by Ishinomori.

The Ishinomaki Saint John the Apostle Orthodox Church) is an Orthodox Church in the city of Ishinomaki, Miyagi, in the Tōhoku region of northern Japan. It is dedicated to St. John the Apostle. The original structure was built in 1880. It is the oldest wooden church building among existing wooden churches in Japan.
After the establishment of the Japanese Orthodox Church by Ivan Dmitrievich Kasatkin, later St. Nicholas of Japan, in Kanda, Tokyo in the early Meiji period, he gathered a number of disciples, some of whom were from the Oshika District in what s now part of the city of Ishinomaki. Led by Watanabe Takuma, 29 men from the area were baptised in 1877, leading to the construction of a small church building, and 22 more converts were made the following year. Within the next 20 years a total of 10 churches were established in the area. However, the popularity of the religion suffered a tremendous setback due to the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905, and the establishment of the Soviet Union in 1917, and many of the churches were subsequently closed.
The Saint John the Apostle Orthodox Church was completed in 1880. The architect is unknown, and was possibly a local parishioner. The structure has a cross-shaped floor plan, with a tiled roof. The first floor meeting room is covered in tatami mats. The sanctuary is on the second floor, which is carpeted, and connected to the first floor by a steep staircase. The exterior of the building is whitewashed, and has a columned octagonal portico often found in Western style architecture of the Meiji era.
As the church building was damaged by the 1978 Miyagi earthquake, it was reconstructed in a new location on an island in the middle of the Kitakami River as part of park which includes the Ishinomori Manga Museum.
It was declared an Important Cultural Property of Ishinomaki City in 1990 and opened to the public in July 2001. However, during the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, the site was severely damaged, with flood waters reaching the second story. Restoration work was completed in 2016.

Ishinomaki City Museum opened in Maruhon MakiArt Terrace in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan in 2021, superseding and replacing the former Ishinomaki Cultural Centre, demolished in 2013 after being damaged in the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. The Ishii lock, begun in 1878 and completed in 1880, is a lock on the canal beside the Kitakami River in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Designed by Dutch engineer Cornelis Johannes van Doorn, who was a foreign advisor to the Meiji government, it is the earliest example of such a facility in Japan.
The lock measures 50.6 meters in length and 8.6 meters in width, and took an estimated 500,000 red bricks and 2000 labourers to complete. The original gate was made of wood, but was replaced by a 5.9-meter-high steel gate in 1966.
In 2002, it was designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
Lines
Rikuzen-Inai Station is served by the Ishinomaki Line, and is located 30.9 kilometers from the terminus of the line at Kogota Station. The station is also served by local trains of the Senseki-Tōhoku Line, which uses the same track.

The station has one side platform, serving traffic on a single bi-directional line. The station is unattended.
History
Rikuzen-Inai Station opened on October 7, 1939. The station was absorbed into the JR East network upon the privatization of JNR on April 1, 1987. Operations of the line and the station were suspended by the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011. Services were resumed on March 17, 2013 on the Ishinomaki Line, and on August 6, 2016 on the Senseki-Tōhoku Line.
