Walker railway station

Walker was a railway station on the Riverside Branch which ran between Byker and Willington Quay. The station served Walker in Newcastle upon Tyne. The station was opened to passengers on 1 May 1879 by the North Eastern Railway. Originally known as Low Walker, it was later renamed Walker on 13 May 1889.

Walker Riverside Academy is a co-educational secondary school located in the Walker area of Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, England. The school was previously granted specialist status as a Technology College, later also as an Arts College. In March 2018, Walker Technology College converted to academy status and was renamed Walker Riverside Academy, sponsored by the Tyne Coast Academies Trust.
