Hibiscus Rising

Hibiscus Rising (2023) is an outdoor sculpture in Leeds, England, by artist Yinka Shonibare which was unveiled on 24 November 2023 as part of LEEDS 2023. It commemorates the life and death of David Oluwale, a British-Nigerian man whose death in 1969 involved two members of Leeds City Police. Commissioned by LEEDS 2023 and the David Oluwale Memorial Association (DOMA), in partnership with Leeds City Council, the sculpture is, according to academic Dr. Emily Zobel Marshall, the first public artwork in the city to reflect its cultural diversity.

2nd White Cloth Hall

The 2nd White Cloth hall was a marketplace for the sale of undyed cloth in Holbeck, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was built south of the river, between Meadow Lane and Hunslet Lane in 1756 to replace the 1st White Cloth Hall of 1711. The 2nd cloth hall was much larger than its predecessor but it only served 20 years until the construction of the enormous 3rd White Cloth Hall. The building was demolished in 1786, only 30 years after its construction. The only part of the building to survive was the cupola which was transferred to the 3rd White Cloth Hall.

The Tetley

The Tetley was a contemporary art gallery in Leeds, England, located in the art deco headquarters of the former Tetley's Brewery. The gallery was opened on Friday 28 November 2013 and closed on 17 December 2023. The charity running it, named Project Space Leeds (from a project which ran from 2006 to 2012) has now rebranded as Yorkshire Contemporary.

Aire Park

Aire Park is a planned 24 acres (9.7 ha) mixed-use development in Hunslet, south of the city centre of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is being developed by the international real estate organisation Vastint, and will mostly occupy the abandoned brownfield site of the former Tetley's Brewery. It is part of the Leeds South Bank development and is named after the River Aire, which flows nearby. As well as 8 acres (3.2 ha) of parkland, the development includes 1,400 new homes and almost 1 million sqft of commercial space. It will retain the Art Deco former brewery headquarters turned contemporary art gallery The Tetley, and Salem Chapel.
