Hallikeld was a wapentake, an administrative division (or ancient district) analogous to a hundred, in the historic county of the North Riding of Yorkshire. It was one of the smaller wapentakes by area and consisted of seven parishes.

Carthorpe

Carthorpe is a small village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. It is located about 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Bedale. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the district of Hambleton, it is now administered by the unitary North Yorkshire Council. Village services include a pub (the Fox and Hounds Inn), a post office and a Community Hall. Camp Hill House, a country house with a substantial estate, lies in the village.

Robinson Almshouses

The Robinson Almshouses are a historic building in Burneston, a village in North Yorkshire in England. The almshouses were constructed in 1680, with an endowment from Matthew Robinson, the local vicar. In 1688, he founded a grammar school, with the schoolroom attached to the almshouses. The almshouses were later converted into two cottages. The building was Grade II* listed in 1966. It became vacant in the early 21st century. In 2022, it was remodelled to form two refurbished houses, and a new one-bedroom house, while the nearby former headmaster's house was extended to produce a four-bedroom property. The building is constructed of stone and red brick on a coped stone plinth, with stone dressings, quoins, and a Welsh slate roof with stone copings and shaped kneelers. There are two storeys and seven bays. The two doorways have quoined surrounds and four-centred arched lintels, and above each is a tablet with a moulded surround, one with an inscription and the date, and the other with a coat of arms, over which is an elliptical window in a square surround. The other windows are mullioned and contain casements. Over the ground floor windows are segmental or triangular pediments, and to the right is a stone sundial with an inscription. In the gable ends are windows with four circular lights in a square surround.

Church of St Lambert, Burneston

The Church of St Lambert, Burneston, is the Anglican parish church for the village of Burneston in North Yorkshire, England. The church was built progressively in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries, with some later additions and is now a grade I listed structure. It is the only Anglican church in England to be dedicated to St Lambert, and one of its former vicars, Canon John Hartley, was noted for being a winner at the Men's Singles championship at Wimbledon two years running. The church was grade I listed in 1966.

Burneston

Burneston is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. According to the 2001 Census it had a population of 244, increasing to 311 at the 2011 Census. The village is close to the A1(M) road and is about 4 miles (6 km) south-east of Bedale.
