Trafford power station
Trafford power station supplied electricity to the Trafford and Stretford areas of Greater Manchester, and to the national grid, from 1929 to 1976. The generating station was built by the Stretford and District Electricity Board which it operated until the nationalisation of the British electricity supply industry in 1948. The 60 megawatt coal-fired station was supplemented in 1952 with an experimental 15 megawatt gas turbine generating set.

Ladywell tram stop
Ladywell is a tram stop on the Eccles Line of Greater Manchester's light rail Metrolink system. It is located in the Weaste area of the City of Salford, in North West England, and opened on 21 July 2000 as part of Phase 2 of the system's expansion.
Ladywell has a Park and Ride car park for Metrolink customer which is a short walk from the end of the platforms.
The tram stop itself is named after the nearby roundabout, Ladywell Roundabout, under which the tram lines are tunnelled.

1984 Eccles rail crash
The 1984 Eccles rail crash occurred on 4 December 1984 at Eccles, Greater Manchester, when an express passenger train collided at speed with the rear of a freight train of oil tankers. The driver of the express and two passengers were killed, and 68 people were injured. The cause of the accident was determined to be that the driver of the express train had passed a signal at danger.
