It is situated in the north of Billingham. The village has several businesses, including a florist, saddlery, international consultancy firm, riding school and post office. Wolviston benefits from a pub, the Wellington Inn, with the former Ship Inn now a residential property. It has a traditional village green and a duck pond.

The college provides A-Level, vocational courses, apprenticeship training, and higher education courses. It is a TASS accredited college, with a dedicated sports centre situated on its site. It was established in 1972, following a reorganisation of various schools on the Billingham Campus site. The college took its name from the famous Northumbrian scholar The Venerable Bede. It merged with Stockton Riverside College in May 2008. St Michael's Catholic Academy (formerly St Michael's Roman Catholic School) is a co-educational Roman Catholic secondary school with academy status, located in Billingham, the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees, England. The school converted to academy status on 2 September 2013 under the sponsorship of Bishop Hogarth Catholic Educational Trust. The headteacher of the school is Clare Humble. St Micheal's Catholic Academy was funded by the Government's Building Schools for the Future investment scheme, St. Michael's was then to be relocated to a site adjacent to Billingham Campus School in the second wave of funding from the programme. However, following the scrapping of the program in 2010, the relocation was cancelled. The new school building was opened in 2016, and the old school buildings have since been demolished.

Billingham

Billingham is a town and civil parish in County Durham, England. The town is on the north side of the River Tees and is governed as part of the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees unitary authority. It had a population of 33,927, in the 2021 census. The settlement has existed since Anglo-Saxon times as a village. A post-Second World War town centre was built north of the old village centre on the town's grange. It was a township, with an urban district, from 1923, until 1968, when it was absorbed into the County Borough of Teesside, and later part of the county of Cleveland. Billingham is home to the Billingham Manufacturing Plant which is a major producer of chemicals for agriculture.
